The Taiwanese Association of America – New Jersey (TAANJ) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting, supporting, and celebrating the Taiwanese American community in New Jersey.
Our mission is to foster a vibrant community where Taiwanese culture, heritage, and identity can thrive. Through cultural events, community programs, and civic engagement, we create opportunities for Taiwanese Americans and friends of Taiwan to come together, share traditions, and strengthen connections across generations.
TAANJ’s work centers around three key pillars:
Culture
We celebrate and promote Taiwanese heritage through festivals, arts, food, and cultural programs that share Taiwan’s rich traditions with the broader community.
Community
We build meaningful connections among Taiwanese Americans in New Jersey by organizing social events, networking opportunities, and family-friendly activities.
Advocacy
We support and amplify the Taiwanese American voice by encouraging civic engagement and raising awareness about Taiwan’s identity and its place in the global community.
Throughout the year, TAA-NJ hosts a variety of programs and activities, including:
Cultural & Social Events – Lunar New Year celebrations, summer BBQs, film screenings, hiking outings, and community gatherings
Community Engagement – opportunities for Taiwanese Americans to connect, volunteer, and support one another
Advocacy Initiatives – participation in efforts such as UN for Taiwan and activities that highlight Taiwan’s identity and contributions

The TAANJ logo centers on a bold “NJ” design that integrates the silhouettes of Taiwan and New Jersey, with Yushan (Jade Mountain) placed in the lower left to symbolize Taiwan’s spirit and strength. This visual connection reflects the bond between our Taiwanese heritage and our community in New Jersey. The logo features a vibrant shade of green inspired by sunlight filtering through the ocean and illuminating the living world beneath the water. This color evokes Taiwan’s island landscape and natural energy while expressing freshness, optimism, and the forward-looking spirit of the TAANJ community.
TAANJ 副標誌（submark）是一個簡潔的象徵圖案，呈現紐澤西台美社群之間的連結與共同精神。圖形中央為台灣的輪廓，象徵我們的文化根源與情感所在；外圍的線條如同海浪或張開的臂膀，寓意支持、連結，以及台灣與海外台美人之間持續的交流。整體圓形設計象徵團結與包容，將台灣置於核心，代表社群圍繞著共同的文化與價值，持續傳承並向前發展。
The TAANJ secondary logo (submark) is a simplified emblem representing the connection and shared identity of the Taiwanese American community in New Jersey. At its center is the silhouette of Taiwan, symbolizing our cultural origins and heritage. The surrounding lines suggest both gentle waves and open arms, reflecting support, connection, and the ongoing relationship between Taiwan and Taiwanese Americans. The circular form emphasizes unity and inclusiveness, placing Taiwan at the heart of a community that gathers around it to celebrate and continue its culture and values.
TAANJ is led by a dedicated group of volunteer board members who are committed to serving
the community and strengthening Taiwanese American connections in New Jersey.
